A woman riding an electric bicycle was fatally injured in a traffic accident on Thursday afternoon in Westminster.
According to Sgt. Alan Aoki of the WPD, the incident took place in the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Bolsa Avenue and was reported at 5:39 p.m.
Arriving officers found a woman – initially identified only as an Asian in her 60s – down in lanes of traffic west of the intersection. Orange County Fire Authority personnel responded and pronounced her dead at the scene.
It was determined that she had been riding her bicycle and was struck by a vehicle and thrown to the pavement. The driver remained at the location of the collision and is cooperating with police.
