Victorville Crash

Two medical helicopters descended onto Highway 395 on Saturday afternoon to airlift two individuals critically injured in a collision. The incident unfolded around 3:11 p.m. on February 10, 2024, close to the juncture of U.S. Highway 395 and Dos Palmas Road. Victorville Fire Department's swift responders were on-site promptly after the crash. The collision involved a red vehicle occupied by a female, a white Volkswagen Jetta with a male driver, and a white Toyota sedan. While the Toyota sustained minor damage to its rear bumper, the other vehicles bore substantial wreckage. Given the gravity of the situation, emergency responders urgently called for aerial assistance. Two helicopters, Mercy Air 2 and Reach 43, were summoned to transport the injured parties to trauma centers. Alongside aerial support, law enforcement deputies were tasked with managing traffic control. Their primary objective was to halt traffic in both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 395, ensuring unobstructed landing for the helicopters. According to scanner reports, the injured individuals were a 50-year-old male and a 40-year-old female. The male victim required extensive extrication. One was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center, while the other was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The Victorville Police Department is actively investigating the precise causes of the collision. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes until the highway reopens. Further updates will be provided as additional details emerge.
