I-15 Chaos
A traffic accident occurred on Saturday, February 10, 2024, on southbound Interstate 15, approximately a mile after the Oak Hill Road exit. The accident involved two vehicles: a white Mercedes-Benz sedan and a white Ford F-250 pickup truck. The collision caused the sedan to strike the guardrail and veer over the side of the road, descending about 200 feet down the embankment. Upon arrival at the scene, rescue crews found the sedan smoking with two occupants still inside.
Firefighters from the San Bernardino County Fire Department hiked down the embankment to assist the occupants and bring them back up to the freeway. Both individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital via ground ambulance.
The California Highway Patrol will conduct an investigation into the incident, with additional details pending the release of their preliminary accident report. As of now, further information is limited, but updates will be provided as they become available.
This accident serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices on busy highways, and authorities urge all motorists to remain vigilant to prevent such incidents in the future.
