In the early hours of Wednesday, a high-speed collision with a light pole in Kearny Mesa resulted in injuries for two individuals, as confirmed by the San Diego Police Department. The incident involved a 21-year-old male driver who was behind the wheel of a 2016 Kia Optima, heading east on the 8000 block of Dagget Street around 3:20 a.m. It was reported that the driver was moving at a significantly high speed and failed to notice that the road terminated, leading to a collision with the base of a cement light pole located on the east side of 4500 Mercury Street. At the time of the crash, there were two passengers in the car.
