Tragic Accident in Wasco
In a tragic incident on Thursday afternoon, a woman lost her life, and two others were injured when a tractor trailer collided with a Toyota Corolla near Scofield Avenue and McCombs Road in Wasco, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies from the Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene shortly after the accident occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. Both vehicles involved in the collision were found just south of the intersection. Despite the valiant efforts of first responders, they were unable to save the life of the unidentified woman.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment, while the truck driver involved in the collision declined medical assistance, as reported by a KCSO news release.
