Tragedy in San Bernardino

The driver killed in a tragic accident in San Bernardino County on Mother's Day has been identified as Chad S. Cahill, 32, a resident of Victorville. The incident occurred around 3:11 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2024, on Rock Springs Road near the intersection with Glendale Avenue. According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, a 1999 Toyota Tacoma traveling west on Rock Springs Road crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with a 2023 Jeep Renegade heading east, driven by a 16-year-old from Hesperia. Despite efforts to avoid the collision, the Jeep Renegade was struck by the Toyota, resulting in injuries to Mr. Cahill, who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the Jeep Renegade, except for one passenger complaining of chest pain and taken to St. Mary's Hospital, were uninjured. Ericka Morales has created a GoFundMe campaign to support Chad's family, aiming to alleviate some of the financial pressures associated with funeral arrangements. The fundraising campaign will help cover some of the expenses, and donations can be made through the link provided in the note. Officer J. Wheeler of the Victorville CHP Station is leading the ongoing investigation, and anyone with relevant information is urged to contact 760-241-1186.
