Tragedy in Fresno:
FRESNO, California – A man lost his life after a single-vehicle accident on a highway offramp in Fresno on Wednesday night.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) authorities, they received a call at approximately 8:45 p.m. regarding a vehicle that had crashed on Highway 180 at the Peach Avenue offramp.
Officers stated that a 64-year-old man was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado when he exited at the Peach Avenue offramp heading east. His vehicle drifted to the right off the roadway, struck a sign, then a chain-link fence, and ultimately crashed into the concrete wall of a loading dock.
The driver was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where authorities reported that he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Officers mentioned that alcohol might have been involved in the incident; however, the investigation is ongoing.
