Crash on Highway 29

A three-vehicle collision brought traffic to a standstill on Northbound Highway 29 near Yountville, California, for an hour and a half on a Friday evening. The incident occurred around 5:51 p.m. close to the intersection of Highway 29 and Hoffman Avenue, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). According to CHP spokesperson Gary Talaugon, a Toyota Prius traveling south on Highway 29 unexpectedly veered across the median and into the path of two northbound vehicles. In a desperate attempt to avoid a head-on collision, the driver of a northbound Tesla Model 3 swerved right. However, the Prius still made contact with the Tesla and subsequently collided with a Ford Expedition SUV in the right northbound lane. All three vehicles suffered significant damage in the impact. Thankfully, despite the severity of the crash, all six individuals involved sustained minor injuries. They were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for medical evaluation and treatment. To manage the situation and conduct necessary investigations and cleanup, the northbound lanes of Highway 29 were temporarily closed from Hoffman Avenue to the Washington Street interchange. After approximately an hour and a half of traffic disruption, the lanes reopened at 7:21 p.m., allowing commuters to resume their journeys.
