Collision on Redlands

In a harrowing incident on a Redlands freeway, a vehicle was found crushed under a semi-truck, resulting in one person being hospitalized. The incident took place on the eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway near the Ford Street exit at approximately 5:45 a.m. First responders from Redlands fire crews rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered a small four-door vehicle completely wedged beneath the trailer of a stationary semi-truck on the side of the freeway. The driver was trapped inside the car, necessitating the use of the jaws of life to free them from the wreckage. In a dramatic rescue operation, crews lifted the trailer off the car's roof and carefully removed portions of the vehicle to reach the trapped driver. During this tense operation, crews were able to detect the driver's pulse through a small gap in the debris, highlighting the urgency of their life-saving efforts. Images from the scene depicted a significant amount of auto debris scattered across the highway, with both the sedan and semi-truck sustaining substantial damage. Ultimately, the driver was successfully rescued and subsequently transported by paramedics to the trauma center at Loma Linda University Medical Center. As of now, the victim's identity has not been disclosed, and investigations into the circumstances leading up to this destructive crash are currently underway.
