A 17-year-old teenager from Modesto, California, was arrested and accused of felony DUI after a crash that resulted in the death of his 21-year-old female passenger. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Fulkerth Road and Faith Home Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the teenager was driving a 2013 Buick sedan eastbound on Fulkerth Road when he ran a stop sign and collided with the left side of a cattle trailer being hauled by a 2004 GMC pickup.
The teenager suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital, while his passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. It was noted that the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Fortunately, no one else was injured in the collision.
The 17-year-old driver was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility on suspicion of felony DUI, felony gross manslaughter, and misdemeanor driving with a suspended license.
