Fatal Accident in Simi Valley:
A 17-year-old died following a single-vehicle accident in the 4500 block of Los Angeles Avenue in Simi Valley.
The identity of the teen, other than being a 17-year-old student from the Simi Valley Unified School District, has not been released to the public.
On August 12, around 11:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle collision in the 4500 block of Los Angeles Avenue, according to a press release from the Simi Valley Police Department issued on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the vehicle had veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male, was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition, as detailed by the Simi Valley Police Department.
According to the Simi Valley Police Department, a preliminary investigation showed no signs of impairment, but the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
