Eagle Rock Accident:
Three people, including a child, were injured after a car crashed into a house in Eagle Rock on Saturday morning. The accident was reported around 10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, in the 1900 block of N. Avenue 51.
According to firefighters, the vehicle crashed into a building. Rescue crews were able to pull the three people from the wreckage and transported them to the hospital in critical condition. Josh Fisher, a witness to the accident, said, "We heard the crash and, of course, the sirens. It was like a loud, quick slam."
A neighbor reported that a 5-year-old boy and his mother were seriously injured while watching TV in their living room when the car crashed into their home. The car's driver was also injured but is expected to recover.
Another witness, Felix Valde, mentioned that when he first saw the car inside the house, he thought it was a very serious accident. Surveillance footage captured the aftermath, showing people running toward the house to help.
Residents in the area described the intersection as dangerous. Although there is a stop sign, many drivers do not stop. Kevin Willette, a local resident, mentioned that his mother-in-law’s car has been hit three times by drivers who fail to stop at the sign. Valde also added that additional safety measures are needed at the intersection to prevent future accidents.
Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.
