Crash in Santa Barbara

Two people were injured on Saturday in a collision on Las Positas Road in Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department. The accident occurred around 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Las Positas Road and Las Positas Place, said Fire Captain Josh Brousseau. A sedan exiting Las Positas Place collided with a car traveling south on Las Positas Road, causing one of the vehicles to end up overturned. The driver of the overturned vehicle sustained minor to moderate injuries and was transported by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The other driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by family members. The names of the patients and details about their conditions were not available at the time of the report. According to Brousseau, both drivers were quickly attended to by emergency services that arrived at the scene shortly after the accident occurred. Las Positas Road was temporarily closed after the accident, between Modoc Road and Veronica Springs Road, causing traffic disruptions while emergency crews worked to clear the debris and restore the normal flow of vehicles. The road closure allowed rescue teams to work safely and efficiently, ensuring no additional risks to motorists. The collision is being investigated by the Santa Barbara Police Department, which is collecting testimonies and evidence to determine the exact causes of the accident. No further details have been provided about possible contributing factors, such as speed, driver condition, or road conditions. This incident highlights the importance of caution while driving and the need to always be aware of traffic conditions and road signs, especially at busy intersections like Las Positas Road and Las Positas Place.
