Crash in Griffith Park

In Griffith Park, a driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the fence of an overpass, falling onto the 134 freeway and causing a fire in the car. The accident occurred near the Riverside Drive exit around 11 p.m. on Sunday. Two men in their 60s managed to exit the vehicle before it exploded into flames and were hospitalized in serious condition but are expected to survive. Authorities reported no signs of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Although the cause of the accident has not yet been determined, police believe the driver simply lost control of the vehicle. Hours after the accident, the eastbound side of the freeway was open and clear, while nearly all lanes on the westbound side remained closed during cleanup.
