Crash in Garden Grove
A 29-year-old man, Ceferino Ramos, from Santa Ana, has been charged with several serious crimes following a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Sunday in Garden Grove. Investigators report that Ramos was driving under the influence of alcohol when he collided with a family who was riding bicycles near Haster Street.
The incident happened when Angela Hernández Mejía and her partner were riding bicycles and transporting their children in trailers, just a few meters from their home. The collision resulted in serious injuries for three members of the family. The 6-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son are in critical condition, while their 8-month-old daughter has stabilized after the accident. The children’s father, Ángel Ramírez, is also in critical condition.
The driver, Ceferino Ramos, has been charged with at least 10 serious offenses, including driving under the influence (DUI), causing serious bodily injury, and fleeing the scene of the accident. The charges reflect the severity of the incident and the extent of the injuries suffered by the family.
The affected family has set up a GoFundMe page to receive financial and emotional support. On the page, the children’s mother has asked the community to pray for her son, who may not survive the severe injuries he has suffered. This plea for prayers reflects the distressing state of the family as they face recovery and the emotional impact of the accident.
This case has drawn the attention of the local community and authorities, who are working to ensure justice is served for the affected family and to prevent similar incidents in the future. The situation highlights the importance of responsible driving and the tragic consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol.
