There is often confusion about the eligibility requirements when applying for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits.

For injured workers who were seriously injured in an on-the-job accident, the permanent disability rating system may seem like a mystery.

If any worker is afraid of reporting an injury because of a fear that management will issue punishment for the injury, he or she shouldn't be.  It is strictly illegal for any employer to retaliate against or punish a worker who becomes injured on the job.

Concussions are a form of traumatic brain injury (TBI) that occur as the result of the brain coming into contact with the skull.  Concussion is a common, but serious injury with symptoms that can appear slowly, sometimes only becoming apparent hours or days after the initial trauma.

It may seem counter-intuitive, but a denial doesn't mean the end of your workers' compensation claim.  Even after a denial of benefits, injured workers have the option to appeal their denied claims to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.

Workers' compensation is a program designed to help people who were injured on the job.  Unfortunately, some workers, employers, doctors, and insurers try to take advantage of the system. 

Qualifications, paperwork, lack of treatment options, delays, denials, and more can throw a wrench in to the workers' compensation claim process, some of which can be difficult for an injured worker to complete alone.

One question that is repeatedly asked of workers' compensation attorneys is whether or not the inability to work due to stress is a valid claim.  This is not an easy question to answer.
