Two people were arrested Wednesday afternoon in Bakersfield following a pursuit in a stolen vehicle that ended in a crash into a pole. According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, deputies were involved in a brief chase with a vehicle suspected of being stolen.
The incident occurred just before 1 p.m., when the car crashed into a pole at the intersection of South Chester and Ming Avenue. The crash caused a brief power outage for PG&E customers in the area, but the service was quickly restored.
Both the driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken into custody without further incident, and they are now in police custody. The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the situation.
