Arrest in Taft
The Kern County Sheriff's Office arrested a man in the 300 block of Pierce Street in Taft on Monday on suspicion of copper theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Eriq Cash, 34, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, possession of a stolen vehicle, copper wire theft, possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property, according to KCSO. While investigating a stolen vehicle, officers found several pieces of heavy-gauge copper wire, according to KCSO.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Cash was in KCSO custody and scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday for an arraignment.
Cash also faces another case in Lamont for suspected possession of metal knuckles, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled narcotic substance, driving with a revoked or suspended license for DUI, and failure to register a vehicle.
