Accident in Morena
Three people were injured during a collision between two vehicles in the Morena neighborhood on Friday afternoon, according to authorities. The San Diego Police Department reported that the accident occurred around 5:14 p.m. in the 6000 block of Friars Road.
The incident involved a 27-year-old man driving his 2008 Toyota 4Runner westbound on Friars Road. At the same time, an 87-year-old man was driving a 2017 Infiniti in the same area. According to the police, the Infiniti driver attempted to turn left onto Friars Road from Gaines Street, at which point he collided with the Toyota 4Runner.
The older driver suffered severe injuries, including fractures in his back, facial wounds, and internal bleeding. His passenger was also injured, experiencing chest, shoulder, and hip pain. Both were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Toyota 4Runner driver, on the other hand, experienced pain in his lower back and nose. Despite his injuries, they were not considered serious.
Officers from the Traffic Division quickly arrived at the scene and began an investigation to determine the causes of the accident. Authorities have confirmed that alcohol did not play a role in this incident, ruling out the influence of alcoholic substances in the drivers.
