An unidentified adult male motorcyclist died following a traffic collision near the county airport in Modesto on Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
According to the CHP, the man was riding a 1992 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Tenaya Drive near Mitchell Road at the time of the incident.
Officials said the rider collided with a Freightliner tractor truck while crossing the double yellow line, attempting to pass a coupe car in front of him. The motorcyclist was transported to Memorial Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, CHP said.
Officials confirmed that all involved were wearing their safety gear at the time of the collision.
It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
