In Napa, California, an early Sunday incident led to the arrest of a man on DUI charges after he reportedly collided his vehicle with a police car. The collision between the two vehicles occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Redwood Road, just west of Solano Avenue.
Ulices Martinez Ortiz, a resident of Napa, was behind the wheel of a 2009 Jeep Liberty, heading east on Redwood Road. At the same time, a Napa police officer was navigating a department-issued Ford Explorer in the opposite direction. According to reports, Ortiz's vehicle veered into the path of the oncoming police vehicle, resulting in a collision. Subsequently, Ortiz's Jeep also struck a power pole.
Fortunately, the crash did not result in any injuries. However, Ortiz was taken into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). The California Highway Patrol has taken up the investigation of the incident.
