One individual has tragically lost their life, while three others have been rushed to the hospital in serious condition following a severe rollover accident near a key interchange of two principal freeways in Los Angeles early Sunday morning.
The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol at approximately 12:50 a.m., concerning a solo-vehicle collision at the eastbound 134 Freeway connector to the southbound 5 Freeway in the Griffith Park area.
Responding officers discovered a gray sedan overturned and severely damaged at the scene of the crash.
The investigation revealed that the impact of the crash was so forceful that it ejected one occupant from the vehicle. Two other occupants were found trapped inside the wreckage and required the use of hydraulic rescue tools for extraction, while a fourth occupant managed to get out of the vehicle without assistance. Among the survivors, one is in grave condition, and the other two are critically injured.
The cause of the crash, whether it involved impairment or excessive speed, has yet to be determined.
Following the accident, a SigAlert was issued, closing the affected portion of the freeway for approximately two hours.
