Accident in South Lake Tahoe:

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA. — Four people were hospitalized after a head-on crash in South Lake Tahoe, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Authorities reported that a 35-year-old woman and her passenger, both from San Francisco, California, were traveling in a 2022 Toyota Prius north on Pioneer Trail near Tionontati Street, around 1 p.m. on July 26. Their speed is unknown. At the same time, a 2022 GMC Sierra with two occupants from South Lake Tahoe, California, was driving south on Pioneer Trail at a stated speed of 40 mph. For unknown reasons, the Toyota Prius crossed into the southbound lane, directly into the path of the GMC Sierra. The vehicles collided head-on, causing various levels of injuries to the occupants and significant damage to both vehicles. All those involved were transported to Barton Memorial Hospital for medical care. The exact circumstances leading to the accident are still under investigation by local authorities.
