Crash in Fairfield

A man was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) on Saturday night after police discovered he was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Northern California. According to the Fairfield Police Department report, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of East Tabor Avenue and San Gabriel Street. This location is in a residential area near Grange Middle School and Bluebird Way, where several eyewitnesses were able to provide key statements that helped authorities quickly identify the suspect. Responding police officers arrived at the area and were able to gather statements from witnesses, which indicated that the vehicle involved in the crash had fled north on Thrush Way, approximately one mile from the original scene of the incident. The quick action and cooperation of the witnesses led officers to locate the suspect, identified as Saul Tolentino Chavez, 29, on Thrush Way, where he was found on foot and visibly under the influence of alcohol. Officers proceeded with his arrest without further incident. Chavez was subsequently taken to the Fairfield police station and faces multiple charges, including DUI and driving with a suspended license. Fairfield police emphasized the importance of community collaboration and the prompt response of authorities to resolve the case, thereby ensuring the safety of local residents and the enforcement of the law in the city.
