Baker, California - In an update, authorities confirmed that two young children were among the three individuals who died in a traffic collision over Easter weekend after a head-on crash on Interstate 15 near the Halloran Springs Road exit, close to Baker.
The incident was reported on March 30, 2024, around 1:45 PM, when a black Mercedes-Benz SUV and a KIA SUV collided head-on after a vehicle veered from the southbound lane into the northbound side.
Officials confirmed that the crash resulted in the death of two children at the scene, according to San Bernardino County Fire Department spokesperson Jeremy Kern.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) records, the mother of the children, a 40-year-old woman, possibly became paralyzed from the accident. Officials later confirmed that a third individual died en route to Barstow Community Hospital, but at the time of the report, authorities could not confirm the age or gender of the person.
