Accident in El Cajón
The El Cajón Police Department reported Wednesday morning about a fallen power pole in the 1200 block of E Washington Avenue. The police indicated that the fire department was called to the scene to assist in assessing the situation. After an investigation, authorities determined that a hit-and-run accident overnight was the cause of the damage to the pole. Traffic on E Washington Avenue was blocked in both directions from S Second Street to Ballard Street for several hours, according to authorities. Drivers had to seek alternative routes. "If you know someone whose vehicle appears to have struck a pole, please let us know," El Cajón Police said via social media.
