Truck Accident in California

A big rig driver was thrown into the Feather River after his truck went off the road earlier this week. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on March 19 along Highway 70, around 3:20 p.m. A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol said the driver had finished a delivery and was traveling along Highway 70 unloaded when he went onto the dirt shoulder. He overcorrected and the big rig careened into the Feather River, according to police. He was thrown into the river and held onto the rear of the trailer until first responders arrived to help him. Officials said the driver was OK after the accident. A female passenger was helped from the cab and also treated by medical personnel on scene. Police said the big rig driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
