Crash in Davis
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 80, when the driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, decided to drive the wrong way on the highway's emergency lane.
According to CHP reports, the driver apparently intended to crash into the police patrol vehicle, which was parked on the shoulder of the road. Although the two officers were inside the vehicle at that time, thanks to wearing their seat belts, they managed to survive the initial impact.

CHP arrested the driver at the scene of the accident and took him into police custody. At this time, the motives behind the driver's actions and the possible charges he may face have not been disclosed. Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation of the incident is being conducted to determine all the details and circumstances that led to this seemingly intentional act.
This incident has once again highlighted the dangers that police officers often face while performing their duties, even when parked on the side of the road.
