Crash on SB 280 in San Francisco
All lanes on Southbound 280 in San Francisco have been reopened following a three-car crash that reportedly involved a wrong-way driver.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. near the Geneva Ave. on-ramp. At the time of the incident, four out of five southbound traffic lanes were blocked for a major injury collision investigation.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes, with an expected estimated time of reopening approximately 60 minutes after the incident.
During the closure, traffic was heavily congested, with vehicles backed up for miles. SKY7, a news helicopter, observed emergency crews removing one person from a car, and another individual was seen wearing a neck brace and speaking with first responders.
However, no specific details regarding the extent of injuries or the condition of those involved in the crash have been provided.
Fortunately, all lanes were reopened just after 4 p.m., indicating that the investigation and clean-up operations were swiftly concluded, allowing traffic to resume its normal flow.
