An SUV drove off a hairpin curve in De Luz, California, plummeting 500 feet into a canyon below. The driver, an adult male, was seriously injured and ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency responders from Cal Fire, Riverside County Fire Department, and California Highway Patrol worked together to rescue him. The crash was witnessed by a resident who called 911.
Two helicopters were called in to assist in the rescue operation. The driver was airlifted to safety and taken to the hospital. The vehicle was deemed "unrecoverable," and a tow truck was called to retrieve it.
