Police Pursuit in Yuba City
In Yuba City, California, a routine traffic stop escalated into a high-speed car chase that resulted in the discovery of illegal drugs, fake prescription pills, and a significant amount of cash. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday when police attempted to pull over a vehicle near Sunsweet Boulevard and North Walton Avenue. Instead of stopping, the driver fled, leading officers on a pursuit that ended three miles away on Bogue Road.
Upon apprehending the vehicle, police discovered that the driver was a minor. The police did not release any further information about the driver but confirmed that they were taken into custody without further incident. A passenger in the vehicle managed to escape, prompting a search by a police K9 unit named “Rip.” Although the passenger was not found, the dog did uncover a handgun at the scene.
A thorough search of the vehicle revealed 21.03 grams of cocaine, 132.88 grams of marijuana, 63 counterfeit Xanax pills, a weight scale, and $1,086 in cash. The Yuba City Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
