Gas Leak Emergency in Clovis
A car crash in Clovis, which occurred at approximately 7:30 am on Friday at the intersection of Villa and Fir, has resulted in two individuals being hospitalized and a gas leak emergency. When Clovis Police arrived at the scene, they discovered that one of the vehicles involved had struck a building, causing a significant rupture in a gas line. Although the building itself sustained minimal damage, a strong gas odor permeated the area.
In response to the gas leak, authorities ordered people in the vicinity to shelter in place, prioritizing safety. Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) was promptly contacted to shut off the gas supply and mitigate the hazard. To ensure the safety of the community, police temporarily closed off Villa between Herndon and Alluvial while they managed the gas leak situation.
The circumstances leading up to the car crash remain unclear at this time. However, authorities have provided some assurance by stating that both drivers involved in the incident, who sustained injuries, are expected to recover from their injuries.
