Tragedy Strikes Marina
In a heartbreaking incident, a 64-year-old man lost his life after being struck by a drunk driver in Marina. The tragic event unfolded on Sunday night, just moments before 6:30 p.m., at the intersection of Reservation Road and Crescent Avenue, as per the Marina police report.
The driver responsible for this devastating accident has been identified as 21-year-old Daniel Anthony Serrano, hailing from Salinas. According to law enforcement officials, Serrano was operating his vehicle with a blood alcohol content (BAC) exceeding the legal limit of 0.08%. Tragically, his impaired state resulted in a collision with a pedestrian, Lorenzo Alvarado Barron, who was crossing the road at that moment.
The impact of the collision left Lorenzo Alvarado Barron with severe injuries, necessitating immediate medical attention. He was swiftly transported to a trauma center, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and tragically lost his life.
