Yuba City Collision
A tragic car crash on a Saturday afternoon in Yuba City claimed the life of a 54-year-old woman from Roseville, while leaving two others injured. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed, pending notification of her next of kin. The incident occurred when she was riding as a passenger in a 2012 Mazda 3 traveling south on South George Washington Boulevard.
According to a California Highway Patrol news release, the Mazda driver collided with a 2021 Honda Accord, driven by a 38-year-old Yuba City woman, who was heading north on the same road at approximately 4:05 p.m. Sadly, the Roseville woman lost her life, while both drivers were treated for minor injuries at Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville.
The driver of the Honda Accord was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested. She now faces charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony DUI causing injury, and driving with a suspended license due to a previous DUI. As of Sunday morning, she remains in custody at Sutter County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
