Fatal Accident in Carson
In a tragic incident on Friday morning, a 28-year-old man lost his life after his vehicle veered into the Dominguez Channel in Carson, California. The authorities received reports of the crash at approximately 3:40 a.m. During the incident, AIR7 HD was on the scene and captured images of a white vehicle partially submerged in the water, just off Avalon Boulevard.
According to investigators, the driver of the vehicle struck a corner of a barrier wall, causing the car to plunge into the water. Sadly, the identity of the deceased man has not yet been disclosed. Emergency responders managed to extricate the man from the wreckage and swiftly transported him to a hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries later on.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Preliminary information indicates that a witness observed the man driving at high speed before the accident occurred. Los Angeles County firefighters conducted a thorough search for additional victims, but fortunately, no one else was found in the vicinity.
The timing of the accident coincided with persistent rain that had been falling intermittently across Southern California since Wednesday. Authorities noted that there was a light drizzle at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the hazardous driving conditions.
As a result of the incident, the southbound lanes of Avalon Boulevard had to be temporarily closed for emergency response and investigation purposes. However, they have since been reopened to regular traffic.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the accident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
