Shooting on 10 Freeway in Los Angeles

Two individuals were rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning following a shooting incident that occurred on the 10 Freeway in City Terrace, resulting in the temporary closure of all eastbound lanes. The incident was first reported around 5:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway, in the vicinity of the 710 Freeway interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). A SigAlert was promptly issued, leading to the closure of the eastbound section of the 10 Freeway between City Terrace and Monterey Park. The victims, identified only as males, were transported to a hospital and were immediately taken into surgery. The precise nature and extent of their injuries remained undisclosed as of the initial report. During the investigation, authorities discovered a bullet hole in the passenger-side door of a white Honda Accord, which was subsequently towed from the scene. As of now, no suspects have been taken into custody, and the incident is being treated as an apparent car-to-car shooting, with no description available for the suspected shooter. Law enforcement officers from the Highway Patrol were observed combing the closed lanes for evidence, causing significant traffic congestion that extended for miles during the morning commute. However, by approximately 8:30 a.m., the CHP announced that all lanes on the freeway had been reopened, bringing some relief to the affected commuters.
