Truck Accident in Tracy:

TRACY, Calif. — Two big rigs crashed Friday morning on westbound Interstate 580 near the offramp for Mountain House Parkway west of Tracy, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) logs. CHP was dispatched to the crash site around 5:42 a.m. One of the trucks caught fire, but the flames were extinguished, the Tracy Firefighters Association reported. It was unclear what caused the crash. No injuries were reported, according to CHP. An oil spill covered both lanes of the highway. Traffic was being diverted off the roadway at Patterson Pass Road while cleanup of the wreckage was underway, CHP said. The #1 (left) lane remained closed, but the #2 (right) lane was open as of 8:51 a.m., according to Caltrans District 10. No estimated time for the full reopening of the roadway was given. The collision caused traffic disruptions, and authorities continued working to clean up the spill and assess the damage. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and stay alert for real-time traffic updates.
