Off-duty LAPD officer, Baldemar Sandoval, tragically died in an accident on the 210 freeway in Glendora. Sandoval collided with the back of a stalled semi-truck in a traffic lane. The accident took place on the east side of the freeway shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sandoval's body was covered with an American flag before being transported to a Coroner's van. The cause of the accident is still unknown and under investigation.
This incident has shaken the LAPD community and is a solemn reminder of the risks that law enforcement officers take while serving their communities. The loss of Officer Sandoval is felt deeply and we extend our condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
