In June, Brooke Carlton lost her life in what has been termed a "freak accident." According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, Carlton was riding an electric motorbike on a track specifically designed for off-road vehicles when she was hit by another child, also on an off-road motorbike.
While the other child received on-site treatment for minor injuries, Brooke sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

They felt it was in their best interest to shut down the track, a decision we understand. Throughout, they, along with the City of Lake Elsinore, have been cooperative. Despite the hurdles, we have thoroughly enjoyed managing the track."
The statement ended on a note of gratitude: "I believe we were fortunate to have such an exceptional community of customers and dedicated staff at the track. It has been both an honor and a joy to see you all at the track."
