Tragic Accident in Fresno

In a tragic accident that occurred in Fresno County, California, a man lost his life after being ejected from his SUV in an early Friday morning collision. According to reports from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred after a 27-year-old driver failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the driver of a 38-year-old cargo truck around 7:45 a.m. at the intersections of Lincoln and Marks avenues. Investigators note that the driver of the cargo truck did not have a stop sign while traveling east on Lincoln Avenue approaching Marks Avenue, giving him the right of way. The SUV was traveling north on Marks Avenue, which did have a stop sign, but the SUV driver failed to stop and collided with the truck. The SUV driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, being pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. According to officials, the diesel truck caught fire after the collision, but the truck driver managed to escape the flames, although he reported shoulder pain as a result of the crash.
