Accident Claims Life of Pedestrian
El Cajon, California - The El Cajon Police Department is currently investigating a tragic incident where a male pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a car. According to El Cajon Police Lt. Darrin Forster, the incident occurred at approximately 10:35 p.m. on Thursday when a 2015 silver Toyota Camry collided with a 34-year-old man at 700 E. Washington Ave.
The pedestrian tragically lost his life at the scene of the collision. In a positive turn of events, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the police investigation. Authorities have ruled out alcohol and drugs as contributing factors to the accident.
To respect the privacy of the deceased, his identity is being withheld until his family is notified of the tragic incident.
In response to this unfortunate event, the El Cajon Police Department has issued a reminder to the community. They urge people who are out walking at night to adhere to all traffic control devices, use designated and controlled intersections for crossing streets, and wear bright or light-colored clothing to enhance visibility and safety.
