Tragedy in Stockton

A man was shot and killed while driving early Saturday morning, according to Stockton police. The incident occurred around 12:42 a.m. at the intersection of Wood Duck Circle and Quail Lakes Drive. Upon arrival, officers found a crashed vehicle with a man inside. The victim was identified as Boivae Martinez, 21, who tragically died at the scene from gunshot wounds. At this time, police have not found a clear motive for the shooting or have a description of the suspect. Although it is presumed that the man was shot while driving, it has not yet been determined where he was headed or where he came from. Residents in the area where the accident occurred reported that the car collided with a sign in the central median. The sign, indicating "Wood Duck Circle," was damaged, and several bricks were scattered across the lawn. Jessica Stricker, a resident of the neighborhood, said she heard a loud noise and when she stepped outside, she saw police presence. According to Stricker, the involved vehicle ended up in a neighbor's yard. While traffic accidents are not uncommon in the area, news of a homicide has shocked residents. Lollie Parker, another neighbor, expressed surprise and concern about what happened, describing the neighborhood as generally quiet and safe. Stockton police have assured the community that there is no active threat in the area and that they are diligently working on the case investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact Stockton Crime Stoppers at (209) 946-0600 to assist in resolving the case.
