SAN BENITO COUNTY, California — One person has died after a crash on Highway 152 north of Hollister, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The CHP stated that a man driving a sedan eastbound on Highway 152 just east of San Felipe crossed into the westbound lane and crashed head-on with a big rig.
Investigators reported that the driver of the sedan died at the scene. The big rig driver suffered minor injuries and was transported for treatment.
According to the CHP, it is still unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were factors in the crash.
The CHP reported that they closed Highway 152 between Highway 156 and San Felipe Road while they investigated and crews cleared the scene.
The road has since reopened as of 10 a.m.
The identity of the man who died will not be released until his family has been notified.
