Tragedy in Millerton Lake

A tragic incident unfolded near Millerton Lake on a Saturday afternoon, leading to a DUI investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). According to the authorities, around 2:30 p.m., a 35-year-old man was behind the wheel of a blue Chevy Silverado, heading westbound on Millerton Road, while a 78-year-old man was driving his white Toyota Tundra in the opposite direction on the same road, near Marina Drive. The investigation reveals that the blue Chevy Silverado crossed over the double solid yellow line and collided head-on with the Toyota Tundra. Witnesses at the scene reported that the blue Chevy had been driving recklessly prior to the devastating crash. Tragically, the driver of the Toyota Tundra succumbed to his injuries, while his passenger sustained severe injuries. Simultaneously, the driver of the blue Chevy Silverado also sustained major injuries. Authorities suspect alcohol may have played a significant role in the collision, and as a result, the driver of the Chevy is now under investigation for driving under the influence (DUI).
