Tragedy in Lompoc:
LOMPOC, Calif. — A motorcyclist died in a fatal crash around 12:19 p.m. in Lompoc, about two miles past Highway 1 on Jalama Road, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The motorcyclist was identified as Dalton T. Myers, a 65-year-old man from Winston Salem, North Carolina. According to the report, a bystander performed CPR on him before emergency personnel arrived and took over the life-saving efforts. Unfortunately, these efforts were unsuccessful, and Myers was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:55 p.m., as detailed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The reason why Myers lost control of his motorcycle and veered off the road is still unknown. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
