On Wednesday, the Fresno County Coroner's Office identified the deceased driver in a crash at a rural intersection as Elida Fernandez, a 65-year-old woman from Fresno. The accident occurred on Tuesday around 11:15 a.m. when Fernandez was traveling south on Dickenson Avenue near Barstow Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) report. The CHP is conducting an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident and whether there were any other contributing factors to the collision. The tragedy has served as a reminder for drivers about the importance of obeying traffic signals and being attentive on the road to avoid serious accidents like this one.
