Shocking Crash in Davis
The California Highway Patrol has released shocking footage showing a wrong-way driver crashing into a police patrol car in Davis, California. According to investigators, two officers were injured on Wednesday when someone allegedly intentionally rammed their patrol car on Interstate 80 in Davis.
The CHP stated that the two officers were inside their patrol car on the shoulder of the freeway after a traffic stop when the wrong-way driver, in a white vehicle, sped towards them. CHP Chief Ezery Beauchamp declared that "acts of violence like this will not be tolerated," describing how an individual drove their vehicle at high speed along the freeway shoulder and intentionally struck the patrol car, causing injuries to the officers.
The suspect was apprehended at the scene of the accident, and the officers were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries ranging from minor to severe.
