Motorcycle Accident

Hesperia, CA - A portion of Main Street in Hesperia was temporarily closed following a serious traffic accident that left a motorcyclist critically injured. The incident occurred at 4:44 pm on January 6, 2024, at the intersection of Main Street and Buckthorn Avenue. The collision involved a dark 2013 Ford F-350 pickup truck and a black motorcycle, possibly a Harley Davidson, equipped with bags. In response to the accident, San Bernardino County Fire swiftly arrived at the scene and requested a helicopter to airlift the injured rider to a trauma center. The motorcyclist was initially transported to Hesperia Airport via ground ambulance and then transferred via a Mercy Air helicopter to an out-of-area trauma center. At the time of this article, there was no update available regarding the rider's condition, leaving concerned community members awaiting news of their recovery. City of Hesperia Public Works employees also played a crucial role in managing the aftermath of the incident. They promptly set up a hard closure along Main Street, impacting traffic in both directions between Peach Avenue and Sultana Street. The duration of this road closure remained unknown, causing potential disruptions for local commuters. This unfortunate accident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance while driving, particularly in intersections.
