Sacramento Hit-and-Run

In a tragic incident, a woman lost her life after being struck by a car that fled the scene, as reported by the Sacramento Police Department. According to authorities, this hit-and-run occurrence took place at the junction of Freeport Boulevard and Potrero Way, just before 6 p.m. The Sacramento Police Department received calls reporting the incident, revealing that the vehicle responsible for the collision had hastily departed from the scene. Officer Anthony Gamble, the spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department, disclosed that responding officers discovered a woman in her 60s suffering from severe injuries at the accident site. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where regrettably, she succumbed to her injuries. Officer Gamble also mentioned that there is a possibility the woman may have been riding a bicycle at the time of the collision, but the circumstances leading to the accident remain unclear. Currently, no information about the suspect vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is available. In response to this tragic incident, the police have initiated an investigation in the area. As a result, both lanes of Freeport Boulevard between Irvin Way and Wentworth Avenue have been temporarily closed. At present, there is no estimated time for the road's reopening, and officials are advising drivers to seek alternative routes.
