Ridgeview/Webster Hit-and-Run
In the Ridgeview/Webster neighborhood of San Diego, a tragic incident occurred on Wednesday night when a pedestrian was struck by an unidentified vehicle. According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), the incident unfolded around 8:36 p.m. when a 45-year-old man was walking eastbound across Euclid Avenue, disregarding traffic signals.
At the same moment, an unknown white vehicle was heading southbound on Euclid Avenue. The pedestrian, against traffic regulations, stepped directly into the path of the oncoming vehicle and was struck. Shockingly, the driver of the white vehicle decided to flee the scene, leaving the injured pedestrian behind.
The victim, who sustained multiple rib fractures and a fractured scapula, was immediately rushed to a local hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, his injuries are not deemed life-threatening, offering a glimmer of hope amid this distressing incident.
To investigate the collision, officers from the Traffic Division were dispatched to the scene. Their primary focus now is to identify the hit-and-run driver and gather any available information from witnesses.
